Usulzen shows the usuls (rhythmic cycles) of Turkish music with a cycle ring, two-line notation and a kudüm animation; plays them with real kudüm and bendir sounds; and teaches them with syllable lessons and tap-along practice.
Frequently asked questions
There is no sound. Turn up the device volume. Usulzen plays even when the silent switch is on. If another app is using audio, stop it and play again in Usulzen.
How is the tempo (BPM) counted? By default BPM counts the mertebe unit: the eighth note in 9/8, the quarter note in 4/4. In the tempo panel (tap the BPM) you can switch to counting quarter notes.
In Practice my taps always look early or late. There is a delay between sound and touch that depends on the device and headphones. Measure it in Practice → Latency → Measure, using the speaker or headphones you practise with. Measure again when you connect Bluetooth headphones.
How do I change the language? Settings → Appearance → Language. By default the device language is used.
Can I stop playback from the lock screen? Yes; while playing, play / pause appears on the lock screen and in Control Centre.
Does it need the internet? No. All usuls and sounds are built into the app.
